3-K For All



3-K for All brings high-quality education to three year old children in New York City. 3-K children are served in mixed-age groups with other children from birth to three years old.

Daily Program Schedule 
​

Head Start Early Learning

3-K for All programs use the Head Start early Learnings Outcomes Framework (ELOF) to understand and facilitate children's learning and development. The 



Gross Motor Time

Minimum of 60 minutes per day or two 30 minute periods can be provided. 

Children are allotted time to move around freely and select gross motor activities such as running, jumping, climbing, throwing, catching, etc. This is for appropriate physical learning and development, purposeful play, and self-expression.

Center Time

Minimum of 2 hours and 20 minutes requires per day.

Self-selection activities, materials, and companions, which enable the providers to facilitate learning within the center.

  • Materials in centers offer a range of skills, interest, backgrounds, gender, and abilities.

  • Physical environment is arranges so that children can successfully and independently access resources in response to natural curiosity, to engage with group activity or find space for privacy and relaxation. The space is also used for collaboration.

Whole Group (Meeting/Circle Time)

At least two meetings per day with a maximum of 15 minutes each.

Provides students with group activities that allow them to engage in active learning opportunities by participating in conversation and exchanging ideas.

 Meeting/Circle Time can include, but is not limited to:

  • — Time to talk about the day’s activities and choices for Center Time

  • — Read Aloud

  • — Music and Movement activities

  • — Discussion
