Tiny Hands & Feet Mission Statement

The Motto of Tiny Hands and Feet Daycare KCTP is "Family Community, Culture." These three elements are necessary to educate children academically, socially and emotionally. Our goal is to support families, be sensitive to the needs of children and build a program that provides an interconnected network of learning. We are in the business of teaching and building future scholars and our love for your child extends beyond the classroom.

​Our Staff

Leatrice Hinnant-Spence, director of Tiny Hands & Feet serves as a pillar to her community for for the past 10 years. Leatrice is entrepreneur, a small business owner. Leatrice is currently the owner of a Group Family Daycare. Leatrice has served her community and offered quality care to families. Leatrice has since partnered with The New York State Department of Education offering early childhood education to 3k for All Students. Leatrice is a vendor and certified under MWBE, The Minority and Women owned Business Enterprise Program. Leatrice has been a member of her Block Association for 15 years seeing and offering her services to the neighbors in her neighborhood.
Ziona is currently a freshman in college pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education. Ziona has assisted her mother Leatrice Hinnant-Spence with her daycare for the past eight years. With the knowledge and experience Zionas goal is open multiple daycares in the near future.

Weather Closing Policy
In case of severe weather WARNINGS; proper precautions will be taken for floods, storms, tornado, earthquakes and any other natural disasters. Our school will be closed if the weather condition does not allow our establishment to offer a safe environment for your child. If the New York Public School System is closed, we will be closed.
Disaster Preparedness Policy
We have a complete plan for responding to a disaster in the event of fire, flood, tornado, earthquake or domestic terrorist threats. The Staff and children will perform evacuation drills once per month. Shelter in-Place drills are conducted twice per year.

Emergency Evacuation Plan
In the event of an emergency, Staff and children will leave the building and relocate to the approved evacuation location. Cellular phone access with all stored parental contacts will be utilized. Communication via cell phone and the Brightwheel app will be used to contact all parents or guardians.
Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Policy
New York State Office of Children and Family Services require individuals working with families to become mandated reporters. This means providers are required by State Law to report child abuse and neglect. What is child abuse and neglect?

"Abuse" means any physical injury, mental injury or sexual mistreatment inflicted on a child other than by accidental means, or an injury which is at variance with the history

"Neglect" means a failure to provide, by those legally responsible for the care and maintenance of the child, the proper or necessary support; education as required by law; or medical, surgical, or other care necessary for his/her well-being; or any maltreatment of the child
Safety Regulations and Procedures
Fire and Emergency drills will be regularly held and children will be instructed on the procedures. Tiny Hands & Feet Daycare, LLC is adequately equipped with fire exits, extinguishers and smoke alarms.

Procedure in Case of Injury
Although the staff members take every possible precaution to advert injury to any child, accidents can happen. In case of emergency the parents will be notified immediately. Immediate medical care will be obtained. Should your child need emergency medical attention, they will be taken to the nearest medical facility if approved by the parent/guardian.

Provider
Licensed provider and current student pursing early children education. Her goal is to create a learning environment that breeds curiosity and a sense of family to all children in her care.

Business Manager
Business operator and manager for all daycare facilities. Ensures compliance with all state regulations and financial responsibilities.
